Using NYU Files 2.0 to Create Your Website
Select the Files channel on your NYU Home Page.
- Locate "Files 2.0"
- Click "Activate your public folder now." Agree to the rules.
- A "public" folder will be created. All the files that you put in this directory will be accessible on the web.
- An "index.html" file will be created. this is the home page for your website.
- Your website's URL will be: https://files.nyu.edu/NETID/public *Note this is YOUR netID*
- Go back to NYU Home and select "Edit"
To upload pages to your site:
- From the Files 2.0 document menu, click on the "public" folder
- Click on the "Upload" button. A file upload dialogue box will open.
- Browse your computer to select the files to upload. If you are updating files already on the server, select the checkbox to overwrite what is already on the server.
- Click the "Start Upload" button
To upload multiple files (first time only):
- From the Files 2.0 document menu, click on the "public" folder
- Click on the "Upload" button. A file upload dialogue box will open.
- Follow the link to the "Advanced Upload" option.
- Download the JAVA helper program
- Click "Add files" to browse your computer
- Drag and drop files or selections of files into the upload box
